Melt Series

Departing from traditional metal joinery techniques such as welding and soldering, the 'Melt' series explores metal plasticity through compression, resulting in an innovative joint system with visually compelling details. The shelves are crafted from aluminium tubes and stainless steel sheets, with no additional fasteners or fixings. A groove is made on the underside of the stainless steel sheet, where the aluminium tube lines up, and is then compressed with a hydraulic press, buckling and expanding within the groove, locking both parts together.
