Alexandra Arias is a Panamanian architect and designer working at the intersection of spaces and objects. With a background in Architecture from the University of Southern California and a Master’s in Design Products from the Royal College of Art, Alexandra’s practice spans interiors and collectible objects, guided by a deep curiosity for how design shapes emotion and connection. Her work has been exhibited internationally at Milan Design Week, Paris Design Week, London Design Festival, and Copenhagen’s 3 Days of Design, and she was nominated for the 2024 Dezeen Awards in the Best Furniture category for her Melt series. Her Onda Lamp was also featured in Sight Unseen’s Best of 2024 Catalogue, recognizing her as one of the leading voices in emerging contemporary design.
Alexandra’s approach is grounded in sensitivity and experimentation. Working across scales — from intimate objects to spatial experiences — she creates designs that invite presence, works meant to be experienced as much as observed.
She is also the founder and director of Stoa Studio, a global design practice that moves fluidly between interior architecture and creative direction. Rooted in the belief that design can shape how people feel and connect, Stoa crafts spaces that feel considered yet effortless. Each project is guided by intention, grounded in material honesty, and designed to be lived in beautifully. More than a studio, Stoa represents a way of seeing: a celebration of craftsmanship, sensorial design, and the rituals that give meaning to everyday life.
Based between London and Panama, Alexandra continues to expand her creative universe, bridging disciplines, collaborating with artisans, and creating work that celebrates curiosity, craftsmanship, and the beauty of the everyday.
